Biography
Trained in Lisbon and later based in Paris, she developed a pictorial language in which city, memory and space become labyrinthine structures. Her work oscillates between abstraction and a dissolved figuration, where space seems to expand in depth and fragmentation simultaneously.
Through a dense network of lines, planes and chromatic vibrations, she constructs interiors and urban landscapes that evoke both the real and the mental, generating a continuous sense of movement.
Vieira da Silva’s work occupies a central place in 20th-century abstraction for its ability to transform pictorial space into a mental and architectural experience.
