From February 2 to May 25, Fundació Espai Guinovart is hosting the exhibition Guinovart versus Clavé, bringing together two masters of contemporary art, Antoni Clavé and Josep Guinovart. The exhibition features two works by Antoni Clavé, loaned by the gallery to complete the show: La Tâche d’Encre (1976-1977) and Instruments sur table (1985).
With careers shaped by the war and post-war period, both artists stood out for their multidisciplinary creativity, working across painting, sculpture, printmaking, and poster art. Their work constantly evolves, merging everyday reality with art and reflecting a deep political and social commitment. This exhibition highlights their balance between figuration and abstraction, as well as their ongoing pursuit of innovation and reinvention.
