Throughout his life, Antoni Vila Casas founded various museums and foundations with the objective of promoting and spreading Spain’s contemporary art.
He began his professional career establishing the renowned pharmaceutical company, Prodesfarma before redirecting his efforts to art collecting and to different cultural projects.
His prominent influence has designated him as Catalonia’s most important patron of the arts of the last century. However, he will also be remembered for his solidarity and compassionate support for Barcelona’s museums, examplified by his significant contributions to the Miró Foundation.
